Debug Menu, Command Line & Developer Tools

Welcome to the section for developers and debuggers.
This page explains what the debug menu is, how it works and why you should be careful when using it and the browser console.
You are probably already familiar with the following picture. This message appears on every Projekt City page you visit, but it's not as bad as it looks.
Warning in the browser debug menu with red text, warning against fraud attempts and entering code in the console. Link to the Project City help page
What is the debug menu?
The so-called debug menu (also known as “developer tools” or “console”) is a tool that is available in all modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox or Edge. It is used to analyze websites, fix errors or execute special commands without complying with certain requirements.
Security warning
If you have opened this menu, you may have seen a warning message in red. This message is not an error - it is there to protect you and to give you information.
Never enter code into the console unless you know exactly what it does.
Scammers sometimes try to trick users into entering dangerous commands or commands which they do not know about.
This could result in personal data being stolen or accounts being hacked.
Who should use the Debug Menu?
The Debug Menu is intended exclusively for:
  • Developers working on Projekt City
  • Technically experienced people for troubleshooting or analysis
Our support will never ask you to enter anything into the console or share information from the debug menu. If you are unsure, you can close the console by pressing [F12].
HOWEVER, IF ONE OF OUR SUPPORTERS ASKS YOU TO COPY OR PASS ON INFORMATION FROM THE DEBUG MENU, PLEASE LET US KNOW IMMEDIATELY.
